IMGP0536.JPGWE, aka” father and son” picked up this 1982 Cherokee Laredo and restoring it as a tribute to the Canadian forces. With this project we are looking at keeping is simple and low budget. We have a 3inch lift from a previous J10 project and a 2inch body lift, and are looking to run 33x13 M16s by Interco tires660.JPG.
To keep the price down the stock AMC360 will not really be touched with the exception of a 4 barrel performer intake from Edelbrock and will either get at 450-500cfm carb or TBI from a Dodge360. For exhaust a single 2.5inch pipe is going to be ran from the stock exhaust manifolds with a high flow muffler.

For paint we have choosen a Tan colour for the exterior and interior will be Olive drab with a hercu liner floor. We purchased Canadian camouflage to use as a head liner and will also be used for seat covers. Through Bjsoffroad the Bushwacker fender flares will be put on.

For the front Dana44 differential there is going to be a Lockright locker. The rear AMC20 diff we are unsure if it is a limited slip in it, if there is a limited slip the clutches will just be replaced if it is an open diff we will put a Detroit locker in it. The AMC20 will have upgraded brakes will be doing the disc brake conversion.

PART: 2
I took the rear dif cover off and found that it has a limited slip in it so I will be just replacing clutches.
IMGP0710.JPG I tore apart the interior and getting ready to box line the whole floor in green hipo liner. Look at all that garbage. Does anyone know how to rig that window with power without putting power to the whole jeep?
IMGP0662.JPGThe head liner is starting to look good i only have the front half done so far i ran out of the adhesive for it

The primer coat is starting to look good or at least I think so can’t wait till I spray the actual tan base coat and painting the IMGP0705.JPGcamo on. So far I have only sunk $800cdn into this project so imp happy. Need some advice for what type of paint I should use to spray the basecoat. I picked up sum fenders from teamgrandwagoneer.com they are narrow track fenders but due to getting the bushwhackers or tubed fenders that I got the idea from off a TJ and looked really good, I am IMGP0715.JPGgoing to be cutting the rear fenders I don’t want to but it’s what my dad wants so that’s what he’s getting.

I haven’t worked on the engine yet but getting around to it looking for a Rochester 500cfm carb or a holley. Im always looking for donations money or goods doesn’t matter. For all my real mechanical work MARK KILE from Specialized Offroad Services is doing it. email me for phone number at j10_honcho@hotmail.com for all progress pics check the the tribute jeep link on my webpage
